Happy Fing New Year….

I’m not gonna lie…This year was already off to a bang. Watching ICE take lives and continue to dance over boundaries and laws was heart wrecking. I was already trying to find a new place that would take my housing voucher, which was turning out to be next to impossible! Still, Mario was becoming more aggressive and overreacting to the point of screaming and threatening to throw my stuff out in the yard and telling me to get the “F Out!”

But the universe smiled down on me and helped me get an apartment! I was sick with the crud and strep, and the housing department was dragging their feet until two days before I moved in! My caseworker was doing everything she could. Poor thing had strep, COVID, AND RSV all at the same time! But we did it. And on February 1st, I moved a majority of my things in! The amount of weight which was lifted off of me was almost overwhelming. My heart was immediately at peace.

It’s taking me longer to put things away. I actually had to buy more furniture just to fill the space. Including bookcases, so if you have recommendations for mystery, thrillers, cozy mysteries, witchy mysteries, witchy books, suspense, fantasy, paranormal thrillers, paranormal fantasy, romantasy, let me know! Well, really anything but dark romance or bully anything. Been through enough.

This feels similar to walking away from my second abusive husband, and understanding this is going to be an epic new chapter that will take some work. I’m not breaking my people pleasing addiction this time, but I am working on gaining confidence to have the best quality of life as my disability continues to progress.

I can also say this apartment is the most “me” when it comes to decorations and that feels amazing. I have come a long way through a lot of crap, as far too many of us can declare. Yes, there will always be work to be done, but I am so proud of where I’m currently at. I am also very excited for what chaos I can cause in this next chapter.

Author Update…

I don’t have much of an update just yet. I have been updating information in my new town, including getting established with a Primary Care Physician. I filled out the paperwork. Just waiting for the intake department to schedule an apartment. I have already gotten a library card and made friends with the librarians. And I have updated my Libby app, of course.

I have to work on the anthology piece before anything else. It has an April 1st deadline, and it takes me forever to get enough words down. The minimum is 10K, but I think I can still do it. I’m over halfway done with Deck the Ex, and I’m still determined to get it out by Christmas. I thought maybe July, but with this new book event, I have to be realistic. Sophie is also being worked on. There’s so much great stuff coming. Be sure to stay tune!

I know the world is getting scarier by the second. I know it’s difficult to keep going, some days. But I do know we’ve got this. I know so many people are dealing with ramped illnesses. I know you’ve got this, too. It’s a lot. It’s down right overwhelming sometimes. But you are not alone, and together we will conquer.

I’m not a football fanatic, but I made sure to catch the performers. They were epic and inspiring from start to finish! So much love! And no one will be able to tell me otherwise. But I did watch the Murdaughs: Death in the Family on Hulu in between and after. Ssssoooo good! If you have an opportunity to watch it, do!

But no matter what…you are awesome and amazing. Period. You are a Storm Chaser who will survive this, because that’s what you were destined to do. I love you all.
