It's March and You're Still Here....

Because the world needs you to be. You are enough. That is all.

Well, Hello Spring….

Kinda. Hopefully we’re done jumping from 75 degrees to 28 degrees with the windchill. And if you live in any of the areas that were hit by a tornado recently, my heart goes out to you. My first ex’s family lived in Three Rivers, MI. I have spent a holiday or two there. You are not alone.

Monty is still struggling with kennel cough. We’re about to finish the first antibiotic, followed shortly by the second. The vet said it can take up to four weeks. He’s annoyed, but it’s no longer constant. Although he loves to sigh a lot all the same…lol.

I can sign “sit” without giving a verbal command with it, and he sits! He is SO not a fan of the muzzle. Like the defiant child who turns his head constantly to avoid me putting it on. However, once on, he’s fine. Minus the side-eye he has mastered…He does “look at me” well inside. He becomes super ADHD when we’re outside, though, so that’s going to be quite a task to tackle. Ha! Otherwise, he’s doing great! He’s a horrible bed hogger, refuses to go near the beds I bought him, and has to be attached to me at all times. Still, when I started having panic attacks, convulsions, and other issues in the middle of the night, he lies on me and licks me gently without any training. We still have a lot of training to get through because I can only do a little at a time, but we’re making progress! We’re doing #montysdogadventures on IG and Threads if you would like to follow along.

Let’s Talk April Book Events….

Yep. You heard me. April book events! “But Stormi, you are struggling to be in public? How the heck are you going to do a book event? Let alone two?!” Well…the first one is actually in Australia. And although I would love to go, Sophie’s still going in my place! The second one is a virtual event that people can participate in from around the world!

  • The first one is Indie Verse Book Event on April 11th in North Adelaide, SA!

    • Books (1-3) will be at the Fables and Filth booth! We’re also doing three other events in Australia with the same setup. I’m trying to get bookplates made to go with the books, but they may not make it for the first event. However, they will be the new covers if you’re interested!

  • The second one is the Fables and Filth Virtual Book Event April 24th-27th.

    • The event is a four-day event taking place within their discord. You can join today and introduce yourself! They also have a bunch of mini events going on along with a bunch of other things, so you definitely want to come join us. I will even do a Q&A one day for an hour if anyone wants to join me! (I’ll let you know once they put the schedule out) It’s a ton of authors from all different genres. Plus, everyone is doing a giveaway!

Reign of the Raven….

It took forever to write again after moving. However…I’m feeling extra stabby stabby, and started to write down some of y’all’s final fate…mmmwwwaaahhhaaahhhaa! It’s getting harder to share on Patreon simply because I want you to be as jacked up about it as I have been writing it. HA! I do need to finish the romcom since it’s more than halfway complete. However, it’s just so dang hard to feel lovey dovey right now. But we’re going to see what we can do. I supposed to could just write about my new love of my new dog and call it a day. It is, after all, about the same, right?

Anyway, I still can’t write every day, but we are at least moving forward. Who knows which one will be completed first. Only time will tell….

Medical Update…

Unfortunately, there is no update just yet. I see the doctor on the 27th of this month. My goal is to get the MRI scheduled and the neurologist referral before walking out of the office.

New Covers?…

New covers are making their way into the world! Got the paperbacks on bookvault, and the others are already on Ingramspark, so they should be showing up! I will be doing wholesale books through bookvault for indie bookstores that are interested. I still need to put the form together. Hopefully, by next month if not sooner! I’m just slower with the dog training thrown in as well, but I’ll get it done!

I hope this finds you surviving. I know it’s damn near impossible these days, but you are never alone. I am half tempted to take up drinking, and that’s saying a lot! To my author friends: Hang in there. Your words save lives. Whether to escape all of this madness, get inspiration to keep going, or simply to feel they are not alone, your words matter. To my reader friends: It’s understandable if you’re in a slump. I would be amazed if you weren’t, quite honestly. Make sure you’re doing self care. Take a break to recharge and catch your breath. Watch anything but the news and pet a floof if you can. Mental health always need to be your first priority. You can’t take care of anyone if you don’t take care of yourself. You are not alone.

All the best,
Stormi
