April is here! So are allergies and chaos….

I haven’t been able to get much writing done due to the weather, but I’m slowly getting back to it when the wind is less extreme, and the pressure is less skull crushing. Monty has been working on his training. There’s so much to master, but we’ll get there! The kennel cough is gone. Hims has allergies and has to take Zurtec, but otherwise, hims is super lovable and ornery. LOL. We’re trying to get him travel ready by November.

I have been promising myself I would go to Ireland and Scotland (where my ancestors are from and on my bucket list) for years. I was going to go for my 40th birthday, but I ended up having back surgery instead. Then Covid came, and now the world is on fire. However, I have a bigger problem. I’m losing my ability to function. I fear the longer I wait, the less likely I would be able to actually go. So, we’re going to see what the MRI next Friday says. Then I just might have to work ongoing for my birthday month before going is no longer an option. Keep you posted!

Writing Update…

I have been switching between Deck the Ex and Family of Fate lately. This last novella includes some of the decsendants from Winnifred’s coven along with Guild members. It doesn’t declare which side you end up on, but I have been posting who gets added to the board as I go along. Hehehehe. It feels good to be writing again, but who knows how long it will last with Mother Nature being so bipolar. Gggrrr. But I’m riding the wave! Let’s see what we can get done! Stay tuned….

Monty’s Dog Adventures….

Well, Monty’s confidence is coming out. Only it’s making him be a little bossy at the doggy park and he’s starting to jump on me. So, now we have to work on a balance of dominance and positive reinforcement. He’s getting better on “stay” from sitting on the ground. He still needs to work on “lie down”. He’s good if you go all the way to the ground. We need to work on the command given from a higher position, but that’s a new one for us. We just learned that Tuesday. And “heel” is going to be a process, but I really hope we can get it down by November.

I have been promising myself to go to Ireland and Scotland, because it’s the land of my ancestors. So, I put them on my bucket list. Realistically, I’m getting to the point where I won’t be able to travel and enjoy a trip like that for very much longer. But I would really prefer to take Monty with me. That means we have to get him far enough to be travel ready. It’s cheaper to go in November before the weather gets too bad, so this is our goal. I have faith in him. He’s picking up pretty quickly, which gives me hope that we can get there. I will keep you posted!

Medical Update….

I have my much needed MRI next Friday! If I don’t hear from the neurologist by Tuesday, I get to call them directly. So, we’re definitely on the path to get some help! It’s been so long. I’m so excited to even be this far! I’ll keep you posted as I get answers myself.
