I am the Storm....
"You're not alone. Together we stand" -Avril Lavigne
Ten years ago today, I was finally granted a much needed emergency divorce from an abusive marriage. He wasn’t willing to face his demons and had grown tired of punching holes in our apartment walls so he “wouldn’t hit me”. And I grew tired of hating myself for wanting something to happen that would take us both out so we would be free, because that was truly the only way out I thought was available to me. But today’s newsletter isn’t about my past.
We have all faced storms throughout our lives. Each making us more resilient in preparation for the disaster that is the world today. If you think back, I am sure you can think of a storm you experienced that made you question your ability to survive, and yet here you are…Stronger than when you started. This too, shall pass. Not overnight, but you will still survive this. I speak from experience. There has never been a storm that came, which left me unable to still be standing on the other side once it finally passed.
We just have to take extra care of ourselves when we can, recharge often, and support each other when one of us is feeling lost and unable to continue on. For you are a Storm Chaser, destined to survive any storm thrown your way.
You matter. Your voice and stories matter. Never forget that.
A Gift For You on March 7th…
I have several Canadian readers who are forced to spend a higher sticker price for no reason whatsoever, and don’t even get me started on poor Australia! However, I believe I have finally found a way to get around all of that…*Insert evil laugh.
You will notice the original sticker price will be lower than it was previously was listed all around the world. It seemed more fitting to make her more accessible during this great time in need than to let distributors keep her overpriced and out of reach. Don’t worry…I still get my pennies of royalties. Ha!
However, being a newsletter subscriber and a US resident, you get a further markdown by going to the featured post and ordering from there. (Unfortunately, it’s still not open worldwide, but I’m doing my best to find loopholes wherever I can.)
Writing Updates:
Family of Love just returned from my 1st editor. I will start working on those tomorrow.
Once those are complete, I will send it to my second line of defense. Ya!
Dead Draw Special Edition paperback is working on finalized steps to be published and released out into the world for everyone to have access!
The next project is still finding all of my corrections within Birth of the Legend. At some point I switched from the ebook script to the paperback for some reason so I have to find where I stopped the one and started the other to make sure all copies are the same.
That will follow writing the bonus chapter for the next Kickstarter campaign. Lucky for me, the story has told me exactly what I need to write. I just need to do it and get it edited…eeekkk!
I will then set up the next Kickstarter campaign. The current books are being sprayed with the delayed books being processed to be mailed to Olive. I should have all the books come May.
I’m hoping to also finish Family of Fate before the end of 2025. I will be working on that during the Kickstarter campaign.
The next Kickstarter campaign will be similar to the last one. I have had several people ask me to re-run it and simply add a tier for Birth of the Legend since they were unable to participate last year for various reasons.
These are my main focuses for 2025. I have no idea if I will achieve them all with my neurological disease, but I’m sure going to give it a go!
Medical Updates:
My eyes are finally getting checked on 3/12/25.
I will see my neurologist on 3/19/25.
I am still working on getting the MRI. There is a Go Fund Me account for anyone interested. Thank you so very much to those that have donated thus far.
With Social Security being compromised, I honestly don’t know what’s going to happen. I might have to suck it up and just sell more books…HA!
That’s all I have for now! I hope this finds you doing as well as one can be doing during these times.
All the best,
Stormi
